quietly beautiful
I love things that are quietly beautiful. These tiny happy spring flowers that you could easily miss they are so small and their smell is sweet in a whispery sort of way. I think female birds are often more lovely than their showy male counterparts. I like secrets and things that you find by quietly observing. I like subtlety and resonance and things that have no beginning or end.

Color
A finished painting. I wish it was four up close paintings. It seems there is too much happening, I might like it better in pieces. What do you think? I used to have a hard time with color, I liked it but always felt it was kind of superfluous, maybe too beautiful, too showy. We have a better relationship now, but it must remember its place.

moving around
Sometimes the possibilities excite me and other times they overwhelm me. Sometimes what I am doing feels important and necessary and other times it feels frivalous.

Evening Song
The red winged blackbirds ended their day in our tree. Singing their song that always reminds me of a creaky garden gate. This is the best time of year, old friends returning and the anticipation of all the green that is to come. Also a couple of new paintings I am working on and thinking about.

everywhere
I love the mixture of sad and whimsical. It feels honest to me. I am always wondering where my people live. It never feels right when it is defined, it needs to be anonymous. I think it is because they live everywhere.Good book: Love That Dog by Sharon Creech
A wonderful artist:Daphne Confar
