wednesday evening

A new piece.
I begin each day with a stack of newspapers searching for images. I cut them out, place them together, paint them and create small collages. Then I create larger pieces that are based on them. I am really enjoying this way of working. I like that there are new papers everyday. I like that I have to search for images. I like having to say what I need to say with what is there before me. I like that what I need to say is there before me.

  2. Lovely to learn more about your process. I love how artists can go with their intuition, but it comes together so well... a balance between the muse and technique I suppose!

  3. Brilliant start to the day- going through the paper- I never thought of that because usually the photos are accompanied by icky stories so I just toss it all in the recycle - disgusted. Thanks for sharing your process, very cool indeed!

  4. It is amazing how different artists' processes work - I like yours! I like that you use what you see - immediately. I tend to cut out a lot of visual images but then I store them away. They kind of get lost - I forget about them. So I end up having a box full of images, but not nuch to show for it. I think I am going to try your process for my art journal - only work with what I get that day. If I don't use it, I am going to throw it away.
