I am altering and working over black and white photographic images. It has helped me to be more conscious of what I distort and I like the shading underneath. I intend to try to achieve that in larger drawings by creating a black and white image to work over. It is really enjoyable to alter real people, cut off their hair, add teeth, widen their necks and turn up their noses. It reminds me of what I used to do to TV guides when I was younger. I also think it would be fun to take one image, print it many times and distort it many different ways to see how it would evolve. Would it become a family or a sequence of the possibilities and behavior of a single person?
