painting

Two paintings I am working on. Wishing at the moment for a studio bathed in light instead of the musty basement. A girl can dream..... The question is would I work more if I had this room? Would I be more organized or would I still carry little bits to work on wherever the family is gathered?

  1. hmmm! that is a very good question. My studio is in my office. It has light but not too much space. Maybe if I had a too nice studio, I would be day dreaming all the time...

All that said, your new word is splendid! Love the colors and the details that make them pop out.

  4. i love the bits of red. beautiful work. and, as one who shares the dream of a wonderful studio, i am still thankful for the space i do have at home to work, by the window in our bedroom.

  6. These paintings are beautiful - I love the patterns and textures, and the hint of figures behind leaves; of things happening behind the foliage (at least, that is what I see!) I think we often dream of what we don't have, but an airy, light studio might be very distracting and you could work less! What I find interesting is whether artists' work would change depending on the space they work in ... would you for example use brighter colours in the one space, different shapes, would different ideas come into your head depending on the space you work in?

  7. love love those paintings. It's really amazing to see where you're at now with your work compared to where you were when we last had nearby studios.

re: ideal studio space...I often dream of it too.

  8. These paintings are truly beautiful, I often wish for a light airy studio and in reality I think that I would only create in the same way if I had one. Just look what great work you are creating without one. Glad I found your blog.
