Just a few 26's from a few different sketchbooks.
Honestly, I could just sketch all of the time and that has always been my problem. I love the open-endedness and the documentation of daily life. It feels very authentic to me. It's quick,it's down,it's done, it's true. So I constantly keep sketchbooks. I probably fill one every couple of months but that doesn't leave a lot of time for looking back or zooming in to one of the many conversations that I start. So maybe one day I will figure this all out and I'll have years of ideas to sift through and a zillion paintings to paint, but I'll probably be to busy drawing in my sketchbook.

Sketchbooks are art, a visual diary or story or as you say a documentation. Who says that finished work has to result in paintings and drawings in frames. I love your sketches, especially the last one.
ReplyDeleteA problem?? I know what you mean, but I think that it is fantastic that you sketch such a lot - and that you document your daily life this way. Do you know how few people there are who can do this? I absolutely agree with P.K.- the sketchbooks are the art. Priceless art!
ReplyDeleteI would look at your sketchbook forever. I like the first page with those little mice sitting around. I guess we all agree, sketchbooks are art.
